Shillong: To commemorate the 83rd Anniversary of the Indian Air Force, an Air Festival 2015 will be held at ALG ground at Upper Shillong on the 3rd and 4th October, 2015. The fest will open to all from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with No Entry Fee.

Different activities like Fly Past, Aero Modeling, Static Display of Aircraft, Slithering Operation of the IAF’s Special Force ‘Garud’ and performance by the Air Force Band will be the main highlights of the event. Relishing food stalls would also be put up. (MIPR)

Zero Littering Zone

Shillong: The route from Duwan Singh Syiem Bridge, Mawkdok till Mawlong village via Mawmluh and Mawsmai has been declared as Zero Littering Zone. This was informed by the SDO (C), Sohra Civil Sub Division, Sohra and supported by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Planning), East Khasi Hills.

Anyone found littering is liable to be taxed by the local Durbars and Tourist Spots Management Authorities of Sohra with effect from 2nd October, 2015. Also a massive cleaning drive will be organised on the 2nd October, 2015 from 10 am onwards involving community participationfrom Mawkdok to Mawlong village.
