Ampati : In order to motivate and prepare prospective candidates for the Meghalaya Police Recruitment 2016 which will be held during the month of October the South West Garo Hills Police department organized a series of programmes spanning three weeks at various locations of the district. The programmes were held under the Chief Minister’s Career Guidance & Counseling Scheme in collaboration with the district administration and aimed at grooming the youth and especially those who have applied for various posts in the Meghalaya Police for the recruitment process.

The career guidance programmes kickstarted at Ampati during the second week of August followed by Betasing, Mahendraganj, Zikzak and concluded at Bollonggre near Kalaichar on the 1st of September. Thousands of prospective candidates were taught basic etiquette and familiarized with the OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device) used during the recruitment process. The participants were taught how to present themselves during interviews and also given sample question papers during these programmes.

Addressing the gathering during the concluding programme at Bollonggre, South West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police Ramesh Singh urged the youth to be attentive and learn from these programmes to further their careers. He said that even the poorest candidates were given equal opportunities in the police department through a transparent recruitment process. He later wished the best to the candidates during the recruitment process.
