Celebs arrive for Indian Panorama Film Festival 2016

Shillong : The cast of ‘Ramsingh Charlie’ including lead actor, Kumud Mishra, lead actress, Divya Dutta and the Director himself Nitin Kakkar arrived in the city today afternoon as part of their visit to the state to participate in the Indian Panorama Film Festival 2016 jointly organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India  and the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Govt of Meghalaya.

The three celebrities were received by H.M Shangpliang, IAS, Director of Information and Public Relations, Meghalaya on Wednesday afternoon at Pinewood Hotel, Shillong in the presence of other officials including media persons.

During the brief interaction with the media, the ‘Ramsingh Charlie’ cast expressed delight and gladness on their visit to the state of Meghalaya and hoped to get an opportunity to pay a visit to the scenic locales in and around the Pine City, Shillong.

Speaking to media persons, Director of the film, Nitin Kakkar said that fresh air is only found in the hills also affirming that such places provide the best spots for film shooting. He also expressed enthusiasm and eagerness to witness the screening of two local films, Onataah and U Syiem during the course of the 3-Day Film Festival.

Lead actress Divya Dutta meanwhile expressed happiness at the opportunity to be able to watch her movie scheduled for screening on Thursday evening along with the audience of Shillong.

It may be mentioned that the Indian Panorama Film Festival 2016 will witness the screening of 13 films, 9 feature and 4 non feature films over the course of three days with the festival opening with the screening of Nitin Kakkar’s yet to be released film ‘Ramsingh Charlie’ whose cast and crew would be felicitated by Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma during the inaugural ceremony scheduled on 4th August at 5 Pm at U Soso Tham Auditorium in the city. (MIPR)
