Shillong: With the prime objective of assisting the young boys and girls of 7-11 years of age who are interested with the game of football and are raring to learn the basic nuances of the game at an early age and later to develop the techniques and tactics of the game ultimately leading to the professional career in football, the Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, Meghalaya invites parents and children to join the Grass Root Football Coaching programme at JN Stadium, Polo, Shillong.
The coaching will be imparted every Friday from 3PM-5PM and Saturday from 9AM-11AM. The Grass Root Football programme is being initiated under the replication programme of the Award winning initiative ‘Hum Chuyeenge Aasman’.
The coaching is completely free and play materials will be made available. However, personal clothing like T-shirts and shorts, shoes and socks and drinking water on practice time will be arranged by the parents and guardians including dropping and picking up after practice.
Talented children footballers are likely to be selected for higher training under sponsorship programmes in the later years.
