Shillong : In the recently concluded B. R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation National Games held at New Delhi, Talkota Stadium from 01-03 August, 2016, the Meghalaya Taekwondo team secured the third position with 11 Gold, 7 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
The team was selected during the tournament held at Golflink, Shillong on 17th July, 2016 on U Tirot Sing Syiem Anniversary under the guidance of Mr. Binod Kumar, Chief Technical Director, Association of Taekwondo Martial Art (ATMA).
Sameer Thakur, Bantei Bahunlang, Amar Jyoti, Francis Hek, Raunak Sharma, Rohit Rawani, Ajit Giri, Vishal Rai, Arjun Rana, Bikash Barua and Ujjal Barua bagged the Gold Medals. Akash Sing, Bikash Tiwari, Saurav Das, Pritam Deb, Imran Khan, Sonia Shylla and Nitin Sharma bagged the Silver Medals while Sunny Kumar Shah and Saurav Tiwari bagged the Bronze Medals.
The Association of Taekwondo Martial Art (ATMA) will be felicitating the winners on 14th September, 2016.(MIPR)
