Online Registration System (ORS) at Shillong Civil Hospital Inaugurated

Shillong : State Health and Family Welfare Minister, Shri A.L. Hek today inaugurated the Online Registration System (ORS) at Shillong Civil Hospital, Shillong in the presence of Shri K.W. Marbaniang, Secretary Health and Family Welfare, Dr. R. Wankhar, DHS (MI), Dr.  R.O. Budnah, DHS (R), Dr. B. Mawlong, Medical Superintendent, Shillong Civil Hospital among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Hek appreciate the Civil Hospital Shillong for being the first hospital in the State to start the online registration system for providing online services to patients for facilities like outdoor patient department appointment, lab reports etc.

To facilitate for online registration, the minster informed that a help desk will be set up in the Hospital premises. He expressed hope that the online registration will reduce the waiting time of patients and help the hospital to deliver health care services promptly and effectively.

Shri T. Dkhar, SIO, NIC, Shillong in his speech said that the Shillong Civil Hospital is the first Health institution in the State to join the eHospital platform which provide national platform framework to link hospitals across the country which was launched by the Prime Minister of India on 1st July, 2015 during the observation of Digital India Week.

He also informed that the common patient portal of eHospital platform developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) is easily accessible over internet at http://ors.gov.in and is hosted at MeghRaj cloud facility at National Data Centre, Delhi which aids hospitals to provide various online services to patients such as online OPD appointment, viewing of lab reports, status of availability of blood in blood banks etc.

The portal make it easy for online OPD appointments using eKYC data provided by UIDAI if patient’s mobile is registered with UIDAI and in case mobile number of the patient is not registered with UIDAI, patient’s name has to be provided. New patients without Aadhar number can also make online appointments but should have a mobile number and such patients will get confirmation of appointment through SMS on registered mobile number, added Shri Dkhar.
