Stressing on the first expression of the Preamble “Justice”, he said that in today’s scenario the concept of social, economic and political justice is of paramount importance and the three cannot exist without Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship. Equality in status and opportunity is the bedrock principles of an egalitarian society and the promotion of Fraternity is possible when the dignity of the individual is assured and does not compromise with the unity and integrity of the Nation, he added.

As part of the observation, the Chief Justice also led in the reading of the Preamble.

It may be mentioned that the Constitution of India is the longest written constitution of any sovereign country in the world and the aim of celebrating Constitution Day annually on November 26 is to raise awareness of fundamental duties as enshrined in the Constitution and also promote Constitution values among citizens.
