2nd Meghalaya Youth Exchange Programme Announced

Shillong: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya will organise the 2nd edition of the Meghalaya Youth Exchange Programme 2015 with a series of programmes from 1st-8th October, 2015 at Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides Headquarter, Shillong. The Deputy Chief Minister, incharge Education, etc. Prof. R C Laloo will inaugurate the programme on the 1st October, 2015 at 2:00 PM.

Youth in the age group of 18-25 years from all the 11 Districts will take part in the programme and interact with different communities of the State. The primary objective of the programme is to gain first-hand information of the different cultures, heritage and lifestyle of various communities residing in the state.

The Exchange Programme will  include Communication Skill & Personality to be conducted by Avenues, Vocational Course in Hospitality to be conducted by the Institute of Hotel Management, Women Empowerment by the Meghalaya State Women Commission, Entertainment (talent hunt, art, dance, acting, etc) by Fr. Anthony Kharkongor & group, Career Guidance and Counselling by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, East Khasi Hills, Livelihood Promotion by Meghalaya Basin Development Agency, Folk Dance by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs and Awareness on HIV/AIDS to be conducted by the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society. (MIPR)
