Shillong : The Excise Department of East Khasi Hills has informed that it has seized 396 litres of
illicit liquor from different parts of the district.
The seizure of illicit liquor is part of its staff ongoing effort to check the supply of illicitly distilled local liquor and IMFL.
The raids conducted mostly in restaurants/stalls in the city and its outskirts where during the month of May 31 cases were detected with a seizure of 101.550 litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 295.095 litres IMFL.
In this connection, 26 persons were arrested under Excise Act. (MIPR)
