Shillong: All State Government offices and educational institutions in the five Garo Hills Districts covered by the GHADC shall remain closed on the 12th October, 2015

in order to enable voters to exercise their franchise in connection with the General Elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council. This was informed by the Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) Department.

Corrigendum

Shillong: The Government of Meghalaya has declared the 13th November, 2015 as State Holiday on account of Wangala Festival and not on 6th November, 2015 as appeared in the List of Holidays. This was informed by the Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) Department.

Further, the Deputy Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Labour Department has informed that the State Government has declared 12th October, 2015 a paid holiday to all public/private commercial and industrial enterprise (including shops & factories) falling under the GHADC to enable voters to exercise their franchise.

2nd Phase of Mission Indradhanush

Shillong: The first round of Mission Indradhanush Phase II is being observed from 7th-14th October, 2015 at fixed vaccination sites in all the Districts and at all Government Health Centres. Therefore, the office of the National Health Mission and State Health Department, Meghalaya, urged all parents of children less than 2 years of age and pregnant women who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated to visit the nearest health centres for vaccination.

For more information, citizens can talk to the ANM/AWW/ASHA in their respective villages or visit a Government Health Centre.

Committee on Government Assurances, Rajya Sabha to visit Shillong                                                                                                                                                                            

Shillong: The Additional Secretary, Planning Department has informed that the Committee on Government Assurances, Rajya Sabha led by Shri Satish Chandra Misra as Chairman will visit Shillong from 8th to 10thOctober, 2015. During the visit, the Committee will be holding a meeting with the Chief Secretary, Meghalaya and other officials of the State Government on the 9th October, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. onwards at the Conference Hall, Hotel Polo Towers, Shillong.
